Full Job Description

The ideal candidate will help TotalEnergies build new capabilities and improve existing features that will handle significant growth in telemetry data and kilowatts under management.

  • Build cloud-based monitoring and control tools for defined software features that control and monitor battery-based energy storage systems
  • Develop third party API integrations to enable end to end workflows and real-time data streams for automated system processes
  • Optimize cloud based proprietary algorithms for the efficient simulation and operation of energy resources
  • Develop hardware in the loop functional and commissioning tests as part of the CI/CD process
  • Integration of code performance analysis as part of the build and automated test process
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
​​​​​​You will be responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing new and existing code bases while working with senior member of the agile team to build deploy and run software services.

  • The positions main responsibilities include:
  • Designing, building, and operating systems and frameworks that control Edge to cloud smart energy systems
  • Delivering software features that follow engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
  • Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear efficient code

Candidate profile

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience

  • B.S. degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of related software development experience in developing battery control software
  • Two or more years of experience with AWS service – preferably AWS – S3, DynamoDB, Lambda functions developed for energy storage control systems
  • Software development experience in both low- and high-level languages – preferred C++ and Python
  • Two or more years working with Travis and CircleCi build automation software
  • Experience working in the Linux development environment, including debugging and shell scripting for battery control systems
  • 1 or more years experience implementing Genability API, WattTime API, UtiltiyAPI, and OASIS API for energy optimization and reporting
  • Three or more years working in an IOT development team
  • Three or more years working with battery storage controllers in the .5-4 MWh size and electrical energy tariffs the CAISO market

The Senior Inspector provides support to the Maintenance Department with the primary effort directed toward the planning and inspection of all plant equipment to ensure asset integrity.  Coordinate inspection activities of outside contractors and properly maintain inspection records for plant personnel and outside agencies.  The Senior Inspector reports to the Asset Integrity Group Leader.

The Senior Inspector directs all inspection activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and that activities conform to good engineering practices.  He/She ensures that the asset integrity of mechanical equipment in the plant is in safe operating condition to prevent environmental releases and hazardous working conditions for personnel.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Enter inspection protocol and frequency of inspection for all new plant equipment and piping systems into the Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS)
  • Recommend repair procedures for equipment that falls out of design tolerances and evaluates and reports its fitness for service.  Remain current with changes in inspection practices recommended by ASNE, AWS, API, and other agencies.
  • Develop and update an inspection manual, which will detail inspection protocol and frequency for all plant equipment and piping.
  • Inspect new and existing plant equipment and piping systems per inspection manual.
  • Prepare recommendations for improvement of all non-conforming items.
  • Perform daily inspection duties, which include visual inspections of welds and new piping installations, pressure test, non-destructive examinations, and weekly scheduling of maintenance assistance for inspection activities.
  • Maintain inspection records in PCMS for readily available access by plant personnel and outside agencies.
  • Maintain inspection certifications as required by regulations and a library of inspection codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in project design reviews.
  • Participate in shop, vendor, and contractor audits.
  • Perform painting and insulation surveys and coordinate repairs.
  • Monitor the receiving of critical warehouse parts using a statistical sampling method.  Properties of interest may include, but are not limited to , metallurgy, dimensions, and fitness for services.
  • Coordinate with Operations personnel for the removal from service of equipment as needed for inspection.
  • Act as the Project Inspection Coordinator on new construction projects.  Serve as the Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector evaluating the Contractor’s quality control activities and personnel.  Be involved in all phases of the project including Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup.
  • Supervise direct and contract inspection, turnaround inspection personnel, and the contract Inspection Support Specialist.
  • Member of the site teams including representation on committees for Loss Control, Availability and Asset Integrity.
  • Perform duties as assigned in the Incident Command Structure as listed in the Emergency Response Plan.

  • Enforce Total Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy in all his/her responsibilities and ensure that external third parties (EPC firms, consultants.) operate in a manner acceptable to Total HSE standards
  • Schedule management, financial forecasting, prime contract compliance, progress reporting, customer and community relations, etc
  • Conduct due diligence on potential solar sites, evaluate the suitability of identified sites and participate in due diligence review, analysis of various reports (i.e. environmental, geo-tech, etc.).
  • Work with owner’s engineer to review design drawings and engineering deliverables from EPC contractors to prioritize critical areas for further Engineering review.
  • Manage the Request for Information and Change Management processes for incoming design change requests
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and equipment vendors to ensure adherence to and compliance with contract terms and delivery of contractual deliverables.
  • Interface with an internal team of project engineering, asset management, legal and accounting staff as well as deliverables of EPC, client, regulatory and permitting authorities.
  • Manage and control dedicated budget with adequate TERUSA planning and reporting tools
  • Ensure project quality control by conducting on-site inspections as needed, coordinating with 3rd party independent engineering.
  • Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards and procedures.

Candidate profile

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years professional experience in PV project management role is required.
  • At least 3 years of renewable energy experience is required
  • Require familiarity with photovoltaic solar design and technical standards as well as civil and structural technical knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of leading efficiently and outperforming assigned objectives.
  • Familiarity with the content of PVSYST and System Advisor Model (SAM) production reports a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive level reporting that ensure timely action and decision making in time-pressured scenarios.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%, on average.
  • Energy storage knowledge a plus.
