A day in the life:

  • Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with top talent within Financial Services
  • Match skilled professionals qualifications to our clients job descriptions

About you:

A Westchester County hospital is currently seeking a new Compliance Associate for a great opportunity with their growing staff. Under the direction of the Vice President of Compliance, the Compliance Associate will be responsible for assisting with managing, developing, implementing and monitoring a comprehensive Compliance Program in accordance with and Federal and State requirements.

Responsibilities:

The Compliance Associate will:

  • Respond to and conduct investigations of identified potential compliance concerns in a timely manner
  • Document and communicate findings of investigations
  • Evaluates and refer questions or concerns to the General Counsel, Human Resources, and/or Quality Management team, as appropriate
  • Respond to and conduct investigations of identified potential privacy concerns in a timely manner
  • Implement the necessary physical, technical and administrative safeguards as required by HIPAA
  • Communicate applicable compliance and privacy related guidance to management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance and privacy policies relevant to Hospital and Physician Private Practices
  • Compile data and determine priority areas for documentation and coding improvement activities
  • Monitor and reports key performance indicators relative to clinical documentation and HCC coding
  • Document and maintains records of all query, audit and educational efforts
  • Review and maintain current knowledge of CMS, Federal and/or State regulatory guidelines related to the Hospital and Physician Private Practices to ensure compliance
  • Develop and present training programs to ensure employees are educated on the Code of Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Program, HIPAA, Information Security, and other specific issues deemed necessary
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Healthcare Compliance experience in a Private Practice setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Computer savvy
  • Solid analytical and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively

Desired Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience and knowledge of Private Physician Coding
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
  • One or more of the following credentials: Certified Risk Coder (CRC), Certified Professional Coder Certification (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential(s)
