About the Role:

The Community Manager position will be working alongside the Developer Relations team, under the Head of Developer Marketing and Community to ensure awareness, adoption, and success within the developer community. They are responsible for creating and implementing community programs to encourage engagement and advocacy of StarTree (and Apache Pinot) users.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work alongside Head of Developer Community to ideate programs to encourage engagement and advocacy within the StarTree user community.
  • Implement programs according to strategy plans.
  • Create communications for developer community.
  • Frequently engage with user community through discussions and opportunities.
  • Create and distribute rewards / swag.
  • Assist with conferences and events organization.
  • Create and schedule social media posts.

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years experience managing technical communities.
  • Good writing and speaking skills.
  • Personable and warm personality.

About the Role:

The Developer Relations team is responsible for developer awareness, learning, and success around Apache Pinot and Third Eye (TE). This role offers a lot of creative ability, so while there are basic guidelines of responsibilities, out-of-the-box ideas and initiatives are highly welcomed and encouraged.

Job Responsibilities : 

  • Increase awareness of Apache Pinot and ThirdEye in the developer ecosystem / community.
  • Present / speak at conferences, meetups, 3rd party communities.
  • Create content, workshops, training materials, and presentations around Apache Pinot and ThirdEye.
  • Develop partnerships with other technology industry leaders.
  • Identify additional opportunities for exposure and awareness in the developer community.
  • Improve developer learning journey by finding gaps and improving developer learning around Pinot-related technical content and creating live and/or self-guided content to fill voids.

Qualifications: 

  • Prior Developer Relations / Advocacy experience preferred.
  • Experience speaking at conferences, hosting webinars, leading trainings, and creating written content.
  • Motivated and driven by the desire to help people learn.
  • Strong experience with at least 1 common programming language and a basic understanding of others (Java, Python, Ruby, C++).
  • Experience and understanding of variety of databases, data stores, warehouses, and distributed systems.
  • Natural curiosity and passion for learning new technologies, tools, etc.

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience making professional quality training videos, guides, etc.
  • Computer Science degree.
