Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing Supplier Quality engineering support to Global supply base. Position will directly support Supplier Quality programs and objectives at Contract Manufacturing locations.

You are responsible for

– Developing current and future Supply base. This includes partnering with suppliers (contract manufacturers, service providers, component manufacturers) on the development, manufacture and improvement of product(s), supplier assessments, and risk analysis, provide revision and maintenance of an Approved Supplier List, create, finalize, and maintain supplier Quality Plans/Agreements, issue and investigate supplier delivery, quality, and compliance related non-conformances using a systematic approach to problem solving, conducting risk analyses and drive corrective and preventative actions to successful closure

– Providing R&D and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) project support across multiple commodities (e.g. plastics, electronics, metals and chemicals) as the resident supplier development expert

– Working with suppliers to perform process and component material development work to ensure components/materials and sub-assemblies are qualified to the appropriate requirements prior to commercialization and/or design or revision changes

– Leading or participating in the audit and assessment of Suppliers ensuring they are compliant with associated policies/procedures and GMP/ISO/PMDA requirements. (May also include due diligence audits/assessments)

– Developing and maintaining a Supplier Performance Scorecards, analyzing and identifying emerging supplier non-conformance trends using appropriate statistical tools

– Reporting supplier quality trend data during Quality/Operations Site Review and Management Reviews

You are part of

Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be joining Philips Image Guided Therapy team.

This position holder will have the oversight, active review, and management of non-conformances, creation and review of quality metrics. Senior SQE will be developing and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers consistent with quality and business goals.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  •  B.S. in Engineering or equivalent technical major+5+ years of experience in medical device or related (regulated) industry in a technical position
  • – 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following functions: Quality Engineering, Operations Engineering and/or Research & Development in the medical device, biotech or similar industry
  • – Excellent working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards such as FDA QSR, ISO 9001/13485 & MOD
  • – Knowledge in the areas of Design Controls, V&V, manufacturing practices and statistical techniques
  • – Contract Manufacturing and electro-mechanical system knowledge and experience in Operations or Supplier Quality area is preferred
  • – The ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization
  • – The ability to prioritize multiple competing deliverables simultaneously
  • – External supplier Quality System auditing experience
  • – Computer Skills (MS office, statistical analysis software, PLM, ERP and QMS)
  • – Ability to travel 20% of the time – both domestic or international

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ISO 13485 Lead Auditor Certification
  • CQE and CQA certification is desirable.
  • Six Sigma Black or Green belt is preferred.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Join an Image Guided Therapy Advanced Development team to identify unmet clinical needs and develop, evaluate, and de-risk medical device concepts and prototypes for best-in-class devices to image and treat structural heart disease. As the Senior R&D Engineer, you will heavily contribute to the technical aspects of projects that develop new, invasive medical devices, particularly high-risk early feasibility projects.  This role requires technical adaptability and the ability to excel in a rapidly evolving, cross-functional team environment. The Senior R&D Engineer will lead technical planning activities and lead the definition of and mitigation of technical risks. The Senior R&D Engineer will primarily focus at the team level but may occasionally be involved at various levels with technical issues at a department level and / or business unit level. The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is required.

You are responsible for

  • Interfacing with physicians, customers, and upstream marketing to define unmet clinical needs in the structural heart disease device space and translate Voice-of-Customer requirements to design requirements
  • Leading key aspects of the Advanced Development (early feasibility) process
  • Performing detailed literature reviews, clinical case, and workflow analyses to become the expert in a given disease state, market, and competitive landscape.
  • Establishing design and process plans to design, prototype, and refining device concepts using engineering principles, human factors usability, and design for manufacturability design practices
  • Developing protocols to evaluate, understand, improve, and control product performance and provide written documentation of results
  • Working with patent counsel to prepare invention records and assist in the patent submission process
  • Translating high-level objectives into detailed technical plans, execute the plan (individually and/or through others), and update the cross-functional project team on key technical and milestone risks
  • Organizing and leading technical reviews to communicate project findings
  • Utilizing common laboratory test equipment to establish relevant bench and preclinical testing models and perform mechanical and electrical testing as needed.
  • Leading risk/failure mode assessment, test method development, process development, and performance and safety testing for early feasibility products
  • Completing documentation of all project data (responsibility to assure accuracy and completeness)
  • Staying current on technology and market changes and communicate these internally as appropriate
  • Networking internally (with research, other technology, and product development teams) to know the strategic connections to move projects forward
  • Complying with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws/standards and the Code of Conduct
  • Making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Biomedical Engineering, or similar field required. Other degrees will be considered based on experience.  An advanced degree is preferred (MS or PhD).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working within medical device technology and product development
  • Have successfully supported multiple new product development cycles
  • Extensive experience in the design and processing of medical products required; experience with structural heart and cardiac devices preferred (such as catheter-based devices, transcatheter devices and/or delivery systems, stents, intravascular or intracardiac ultrasound)
  • Technical skills to include translation of first-principles science/engineering understanding to Design of Experiments, device design including high level CAD skills, prototyping and test methods development, interpreting/presenting data, conducting advanced statistical analysis, and writing technical reports
  • Capable of communicating complicated technical information to audiences with varying levels of expertise in the area
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

We are looking for a leader who brings a passion for development and delivery of pricing excellence across the Image Guided Therapy Device business. The Senior Manager of Strategic Pricing is a critical component to continued growth and success as the role is responsible for the largest, most complex, strategic pricing programs and deals. Leveraging your strong analytic and pricing background, as Senior Manager of Strategic Pricing you will play a key role in the Commercial Operations and Pricing & Contract teams.

You are responsible for

As Senior Manager of Strategic Pricing, you will be responsible for development, implementation and oversight of pricing strategy, analytics, and policies for Image Guided Therapy Devices through collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Finance leaders. This role is responsible for continuously enhancing the pricing process, which will result in increased sales and profit for the organization. Your team will be tasked with driving sustainable, profitable growth through the implementation of differentiated and innovate pricing structures, and streamlining our pricing policies, ERP pricing governance and processes to ensure agility in addressing near-term opportunities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage and supervise analysts to support activities inclusive of new price generation, Price Council administration, pricing, and program analytics.
  • Develop standard analytics set for all product lines to continually assess internal and external pricing trends as well as price council activity and impacts to the various businesses
  • Further the pricing center of excellence to support strategic pricing decisions, develop analytics around pricing (e.g., price sensitivity/elasticity analysis, regression analysis, price waterfalls, etc.) and present plans to senior executives.
  • Develop Methodology for calculating List Price, Price Floor, Pricing Matrix and Price ceiling for various product lines within various market segments in relation to the value.
  • Drive a systematic and regular cadence to review product portfolio pricing across IGTD business to identify upside opportunities and/or pricing gaps throughout our products’ lifecycles. Work with sales, management, and product managers to implement the price changes into the market.
  • Provide overall thought leadership in revenue generation: identifying market opportunities, performing business and competitive analysis, and develop pricing strategies and tactics to pursue identified opportunities.
  • Develop product bundles, upsell and cross-sell strategies, and price promotions that leverage the business portfolio and generate greater customer value and long-term partnerships.
  • Track price compliance, contract designation commitment, market share obligations and deliver results to organization meeting SLA standards.
  • Produce customer pricing analytics (hospital, OBL, IDN and GPO), overall margin analyses, as well as customer deal modeling
  • Develop reports, dashboards and KPI’s for the implementation of the strategic pricing capability roadmap across products to monitor and track roadmap implementation, performance against project goals, timelines, and milestones within IGTD and distribute to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Analyze financial impact of price approach in view of overall history as well as profitability of customer.
  • Manage total pricing procedure, enhance processes to make most of efficiencies and ensure timely response to market conditions.
  • Provide thought leadership for pricing process improvements and solve problems to improve pricing performance through pricing operational excellence with consistent adoption of new tools and procedures.
  • Maintain and update regularly pricing history database.

You will be part of the IGTD Commercial Operations team will drive transformation and optimization activities via a partnering model, taking responsibility for driving successful collaboration across various functional teams working towards well-defined goals. Your successful track-record of engaging and collaborating with those around you will be your greatest asset.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in cost accounting or pricing. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in pricing, finance, marketing analytics, or consulting
  • At least 5 years of experience working with ERP/various IT systems and perform ETL (extract, transform, load data from various IT systems)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Position will require a solid grasp of quantitative analysis, finance, and statistics
  • An advanced understanding of pricing concepts and frameworks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft; Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to dig into detail, manage complexity and drive decision making
  • Ability to create financial models for ad-hoc reporting and work with large volumes of data
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet pricing goals within established timelines
