The Perch Energy Technology team is seeking an experienced Salesforce Software Engineer to join the team and be part of our mission to build an industry-leading platform that allows customers to switch to clean, local energy sources. They should have extensive knowledge of software development and design, be a quick learner, and have passion to improve themselves by adopting new development skills. They should also be capable of leading other members of the team on best practices around application development. They should be flexible and willing to learn new programming skills and methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains complex applications
  • Identifies when to use configuration vs. code to solve a problem
  • Develops unit tests and ensures code coverage that accurately tests business logic and functionality
  • Participates in developing specifications for epics and user stories
  • Solves or recommends solutions for complex issues and problems
  • Documents designs, issues, solutions as needed
  • Collaborates within the Agile framework, fosters a team approach to software development and delivery
  • Engages in improving software delivery through DevOps and other Agile practices
  • Stays current in new Salesforce and related technologies to maintain a high level of subject matter expertise
  • Writes performant code with consideration for governor limits imposed by the Salesforce Platform
Requirements
  •  5+ years of building Salesforce applications (Apex, Lighting Web Components, JavaScript, and CSS) in complex environments
  • Knowledge of declarative development on the Salesforce platform including Workflow Rules, Process Builders, Flows, Formula Fields etc.
  • API development and integration experience
  • Salesforce certifications are a plus
  • Experience with SFDX, CI/CD pipelines, Zuora, NetSuite, Conga, Boomi is a plus
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent

Perch Energy was recently spun out of BlueWave Solar, and is in the midst of building our own Company, while scaling our Community Solar offering, and releasing other exciting products to help people access clean, green energy.

Perch Energy has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant reporting to the Senior Accountant. As Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include assisting with all aspects of the G/L such as day to day processing of accounts payable, monthly closing process, basic financials as well as some special projects.

We seek someone who is eager to learn, who enjoys handling the wide range of tasks and the fast pace of an emerging growth, entrepreneurial company.

Requirements
  • Assist in the timely preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Investigate and resolve open items
  • Assist in the validation of proper record keeping at each respective entity
  • Prepare and process accounts payable invoices and ensuring that payment will be made timely and accurately
  • Ensure that files are up to date, accurate and that approvals are obtained for expenditures
  • Assist in the timely preparation of audit schedules and support
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger
  • Prepare account analysis
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations including accounting guidance research

Required skills, education, and qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of  experience (regional public auditing experience a plus)
  • Understanding of  U.S. GAAP
  • Strong computer  and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent  organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage  multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to completion quickly
  • Attention to  detail and commitment to continuous improvement
