ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Corporate real estate; Lease review, Tenant Improvement Allowance (TIA) collection, retail, and/or banking industry.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Successfully initiate, plan, execute and close all project deliverables as committed
  • Ensure project definition documents are prepared and maintained
  • Publish project plans and schedules as needed
  • Ensure the schedules of the various constituencies involved are coordinated, and the multiple sub-project plans are consolidated into one master project schedule for project tracking
  • Track project timelines and costs
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Identify and resolve issues
  • Develop and manage project budget and schedule
  • Create and evaluate project reports and provide project status to internal and external clients
  • Supervise vendors to ensure satisfactory project completion
  • Prepare, publish and communicate project status, including input into the designated tracking systems
  • Advise corporate management on all perceived risks to the successful completion of the project, and obtain decisions and approval from management on changes to project scope, design, schedule, and cost

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S Degree in related field preferred Minimum of three (3) years directly related experience construction related project accountability role or a minimum of five (5) years equivalent combination of experience in an advisory and/or project management capacity required
  • Hands-on experience with tenant improvement construction projects; ability to read and understand construction specifications (and construction drawings preferred)
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects, maintain excellent client relations, client management, and consultation skills required
  • Proven leadership ability, administrative ability, technical background, and project responsibility experience preferred
  • Willing/able to travel
  • Highly organized and skilled with time management; Superior oral and written communication skills required.

The Cushman & Wakefield Dealership Capital Services (“DCS”) Group is looking for an individual to join its team in Washington, D.C. to assist in the continued growth of the group’s practice focusing on automotive retailers in the United States.

The DCS group divides its focus on providing dealership mergers & acquisition services, as well as real estate solutions to the top 200 public and private auto dealer groups.

Accordingly, the DCS group is seeking to hire an individual who will assist in managing transaction services for buy/sell transactions, equity partner buyouts and helping to spearhead the expansion of Sonic Automotive’s Echo Park program. Echo Park duties will consist of coordinating with local agents in various market to procure site options and then collaborating with the respective market agent to pursue such sites through to closing.

To Be Effective In This Position, The Individual Must

  • Have 1-2 years of commercial real estate experience;
  • Strong marketing skills to produce offering memorandums, social media content and assist with growing the DCS team’s network of dealers and dealership-related contacts;
    • Ability to create and manage client databases;
    • Navigating, networking and researching LinkedIn;
    • Assist in communicating DCS existence within Cushman & Wakefield to promote referrals;
    • Ability to upgrade, maintain and revise C&W’s DCS webpage, as needed;
    • Create post-closing announcements;
    • Communicate deal closings with Automotive News, LinkedIn, email blasts;
    • Assist with creation, editing and distribution of articles to client network
  • Level-headed and able to handle adverse transaction conditions with strong personalities on the client side;
  • Able to take direction in fast-paced and “on-the-fly” conditions;
  • Organized and able to communicate effectively with real estate brokers and DCS team members, while maintaining and tracking information relating to the multiple properties targeted for Echo Park purchase;
    • Participate in regular conference call with Sonic’s senior management to discuss progress on various projects;
  • Multi-tasker that can juggle various tasks, while meeting deadlines and communicating effectively with the DCS team, brokers counterparts at Cushman & Wakefield and other clients;
  • Independent, coachable and able to process constructive feedback;
  • Ability to travel anywhere in the U.S./Canada, sometimes at a moment’s notice. Anticipate maximum travel to be 3 days per month.

Responsibilities

In addition to shouldering a good deal of the responsibilities for assisting with maintaining the Sonic relationship, this individual will also assist the DCS team in its dealership M&A activity which will require the following skills

  • Strong desire to learn about automotive dealerships and how they operate;
  • Ability to navigate databases and online resources (i.e. CoStar, Engage)
  • Ability to underwrite a dealership’s financial and real estate conditions;
  • Experience with preparing offering memoranda and prospectus;
  • Experience with preparing listing agreements, confidentiality agreements;
  • Experience with mapping and working with the GIS group;
  • Understanding of structuring purchase and sales agreements;
  • Assist with closing deals.

Lastly, the DCS team is aggressively growing to establish Cushman & Wakefield as the first choice for dealers nationwide to turn to for all its transaction and real estate needs. Accordingly, this individual will be instrumental in devising a marketing plan to promote Cushman & Wakefield’s DCS group on a national level. This will involve working with Cushman & Wakefield marketing teams on a local and national level, updating social media accounts/website/e-blasts, attending trade conferences and other networking functions.
