Field Auto Technical Adjuster I is responsible for providing a superior level of customer service and attention to customers who have a vehicle that needs repaired. The individual virtually or physically inspects damage to a vehicle (which may include automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and recreational vehicles), writes damage repair estimates, completes total loss valuation and negotiates complex settlements with repair facilities, tow yards, customers, and estimates repair times for rental/loss of use.

A day in the life of a Field Auto Adjuster: 
•    Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner
•    Efficiently write or review accurate estimates and supplements based on photos, with opportunity to learn and leverage video and or / physical inspection skills.
•    Perform parts searches
•    Review, reconcile, and negotiate with, repair facilities, customers and claimants
•    Work in multiple workstreams (Field Inspections, Quick Foto Claims, Waivers, Virtual Assist, Tech Reviews, Total loss)
•    Use data and analytics to problem solve and contribute to team goals by sharing ideas and opinions
•    Flexibility to work independently as part of a virtual team. May be required to travel to local office periodically
•    The ability to work independently starting your day from home, and traveling to various locations to restore peoples’ lives through outstanding customer service
•    In our virtual environment, adjusters are required to engage and participate on camera during online meetings and trainings.

Notice of Licensing Requirement:
As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license.
If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.
Licensing required; multiple markets preferred.  Required to obtain required licenses within 60 days of hire.

Job Qualifications

•    You are a High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
•    You have 18 months or more of Auto Estimating / Body Shop / Insurance Experience 
•    You have prior experience using auto estimating programs such as: CCC One, Audatex, or Mitchell

The ASC SRE team is accountable for the availability, performance, scalability, and health of this new ASC ecosystem. The ideal candidate has a background in software engineering, as well as operations, infrastructure, and/or security experience. Our globally distributed team will provide round-the-clock coverage whilst maintaining standard working shifts for individuals (minimizing off-hour interruptions).

Site Reliability Engineers will drive and (whenever possible) implement:

•    Availability, Scalability, Monitoring, and Emergency Response
•    Performance Management and Capacity Planning
•    Prescriptive specifications on Architecture, Code, and Automation
•    Emerging Engineering and Innovation

Key Responsibilities

•    Partner with application and business stakeholders to ensure high quality product is developed and released into production
•    Implement and maintain comprehensive service monitoring (today via Datadog and Splunk) to ensure uptime and performance through automation and proactive/predictive alerts
•    Define, measure, and achieve key Service Level Objectives including availability, performance, incidents and chronic problems
•    Build automation and other improvements to prevent problem recurrence; eventually automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions
•    Mentor our broader engineering and operations community
•    Work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and other teams across Allstate to specify and document solutions and practices, and review and influence product roadmaps/strategies to ensure alignment with both current and future Allstate needs
•    Keep abreast of evolving threats/risks and industry trends, and work to implement best practices in the organization; provide technical and business risk assessment/perspectives related to new product implementation

Compensation Data

Salary range is $90000 to $155,000. Salary commensurate with experience.

A Day in the Life of a Field/Virtual Property Adjuster:

  • Spend part up to 30% traveling to loss sites that have been damaged by fire, water, weather or other unexpected events and about 70% handling claims virtually from home
  • Conduct a detailed inspection of the property and write an estimate to capture the extent of the damages
  • When you are not in the field, use advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a damage estimate from a virtual setting
  • Review the policy and decide how coverage applies and provide the customer with a detailed explanation of both the estimate and the policy
  • Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner
  • Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies

A Day in the Life:

  • Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner
  • Conduct a detailed review of the property and write an estimate to capture the extent of the damages
  • Use high resolution photographs provided by virtual imagery and advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors to identify damages and write a damage estimate from a virtual setting
