Institutional Research Services provides systems development and support for the Bernstein Research brand of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. LLC and Sanford C. Bernstein Limited, which are subsidiaries of AllianceBernstein. Led by Declan Kearney, the group provides technology support for the business’s research, sales, and trading activities.

We are seeking a NY-based Trading Technology Analyst to join our dynamic global trading support team.

The candidate will be responsible for new innovative trading technology solutions whilst achieving operational excellence in providing daily trading system application support for our US trading operation.

Describe the role:

The role provides the candidate with the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of business initiatives, both strategic and tactical in nature, and to play a core role in the expansion of our sell side equity trading business.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The role supports daily trading operations for Cash, Portfolio and Options Trading desks.

The role supports the following trading applications for each desk:

Cash Trading—Flextrade ColorPalette OMS

Portfolio Trading—Inforeach & Flextrade OMS/EMS

Options Trading—Fidessa OMS & Flexrisk Risk Management

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing multiple initiatives/projects on trading floor
  • Ability to work as part of a global support team liaising with staff globally
  • Support and monitoring of FIX client and exchange gateway on a day-to-day basis
  • Own, track and resolve issues by closely working with trading support team and trade desk personnel
  • Performing onboarding of client and exchange routes on need basis on FIX gateways
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing across the global team on various projects/tasks involved
  • Identify and validate software code fixes by vendors (OMS, EMS, FIX etc.) in response to support issues
  • Conduct technical diagnosis of operational problems on development and production environments
  • Effectively communicate with various stakeholders to ensure timely resolutions to any issues reported
  • Collaborate with internal support teams, vendors, and business unit personnel to monitor the status of ongoing technology issues and expedite resolution

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

  • 3+ years of Securities and trading industry experience/strong background in technology operations in the financial markets industry
  • Prior experience with market data and equity trading applications
  • Experience with Equity and Options Trading Order Management Systems e.g. (Flextrade ColorPalette, Fidessa, Flextrade, Portware, Inforeach, Virtu ITG, Charles River, & Enfusion)
  • Understanding of Equity Brokerage Trading and Middle/Back Office Operations
  • Knowledge of Portfolio Trading and/or Algorithmic trading systems and business workflows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivation and prioritization skills to meet business deadlines
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and facilitation skills
  • Prior experience with systems change management best practices
  • Strong Vendor Relationship Management and negotiation experience

Skills:

  • Must be customer service focused with a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities/deadlines
  • Skilled in creating technical documentation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to take on complex projects
  • Ability to continually adapt to evolving trading desk needs

Special Knowledge:

  • Experience and understanding of risk management systems and processes
  • Experience with FIX client onboarding, regression testing, and exchange certifications
  • Technical knowledge of Windows Server and UNIX/Linux Operating Systems
  • Scripting experience (Perl, PowerShell etc.) a plus
  • Prior experience with SAN storage solutions and Virtualization technologies is a plus
  • Previous project management and organization skills handling complex projects is a plus
  • Previous Business Analysis/Project Management experience across the full project life cycle (requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment) is a plus

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Private Wealth Associate to work in a client facing role with a team of Financial Advisors for Bernstein Private Wealth Management. This role will require candidates to build upon their current skill set and will provide unparalleled immersion into all aspects of the wealth management industry. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to partner with Financial Advisors to provide all aspects of client servicing including asset allocation advice, portfolio analytics, Trust & Estate Planning, Retirement Planning, and Core/Discretionary Planning for high net worth clients and prospects.

A Private Wealth Associate will:

  • Partner with Financial Advisors to build their business and provide service and support functions such as portfolio analysis, account creation and maintenance, and client/prospect meeting preparation
  • Partner with team members to accomplish a common goal of providing exceptional service
  • Interact with clients to support all aspects of their servicing needs related to the management of their relationship

Training Program:

Private Wealth Associates will participate in a comprehensive and robust three-phase training program. Curriculum will be delivered both in a formal classroom and on the job setting. Content can include:

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or economics with excellence in academics and strong leadership experience. Candidates should either have two years of industry experience or be a recent college graduate with relevant internships.
